Don't Let Waquoit Bay Go Down the Drain!

Join Citizens for the Protection of Waquoit Bay to learn how to adopt a storm drain and help keep pollutants out of the Waquoit Bay watershed:

Storm Drain Project Kickoff Event
Saturday June 27th, 10am
Westies Shoe Outlet parking lot
486 Waquoit Hwy, Waquoit (Rte 28 x Metoxit Rd)

Becoming a Storm Drain Monitor is one of the most practical ways that residents like you can help improve water quality. Every drain you monitor helps:

  • Reduce pollutants flowing into Waquoit Bay and local ponds

  • Prevent street flooding during heavy rain

  • Show local authorities which drains need service

  • Identify priority areas for more environmentally-friendly drainage systems

Waquoit Bay is an important estuary and Area of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC) that has exceeded Nitrogen pollution limits in every year measured. Adopt a storm drain to protect Waquoit Bay!

Storm drain measuring tools available while supplies last - but they are easy to make, too!

Snacks and Beyond the Grind coffee provided.
